'Christmas Crackers' Programme: some more background information

Angel Song: Glory to the new-born King

As with all of our concert programmes, I endeavour to include at least one song written by a woman composer. Patricia Mock, the co-writer of this song, is an American composer and educator who writes accessible songs for choirs to perform. I've adapted the music into three parts, sharing the melody line so that everyone gets a turn! I like the 'Gloria in excelsis' refrain which is borrowed from a familiar carol.

Merry Christmas, Darling

'Christmas Crackers' Programme

You will find the choir version of the programme on the repertoire page. You will need to download it and print your own copy. As well as showing who sings what and where, there are also the words for the audience participation items as well as instructions for when you might need to move position!

'Christmas Crackers'

We are once again hosting our 'Christmas Crackers' Concert at the Parish Church

The date is the afternoon of Saturday 13 December so make sure you have it in your diary!

As well as audience carols and songs we will again be joined by Highcliffe Harmony. All the music you need is on the website along with audio tracks to help you learn the music

One of the songs - Hodie - has a Latin text:

Hodie Christus natus est (Today Christ is born)

     Salvator apparuit (the Saviour appeared)
